Lyudmila Pavlova was born in the Soviet Union. She grew up and worked in Moscow. There she got a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specializing in the area of designing bridges and tunnels. She taught students in the Moscow Auto-road Technical University.
After finishing her scientist and educator's career 15 years ago, she moved to USA and started to paint. She was a student of Minnesota School of Botanical Art.
She is a member of American Society of Botanical Art (ASBA), and participated in a number of national and international exhibitions organized by ASBA and other organizations. Her art works are in the permanent collection of Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation.
